Crystal Particle Blast Cleaning

Particles of a defined small granular size, Dry Ice Crystal Particles, are  used in the blast cleaning process.  Dry Ice pellets  or other forms of Dry Ice are ground to fine or rough sugar-like crystal particles, increasing the Dry Ice impact  points thousand fold, compared  to standard Dry Ice pellets. Both of our current systems, the Mach1 Dual Pellet Blaster and  the Mach2 Universal Blaster   produce Crystal Particles,  allowing  for  very low  Dry Ice  consumption across  the entire blast air pressure range and providing unmatched safety to delicate substrates and components.

Crystal Particle Blast Cleaning utilizes Dry Ice material more efficiently than any other method !

The vast  increase of  individual particles  per cm3 (cubic inch),  compared to  standard pellets, and the reduction of impact mass per particle makes Crystal Particle Blast Cleaning in the 1 - 6 bar (15 - 90 psi) work pressure range  an effective but also very safe Dry Ice Blast Cleaning method, when working with sensitive surfaces. Some examples  are generator and  motor windings, switch gears, electronics,  circuit boards,  semiconductor  production tools  or natural  materials such as wood and soft sandstone; i.e. restoration and cleaning of historic buildings and monuments.

At  the  same time,  it is important  to note that  above 7 bar / 100 psi work pressure,  particle blasting becomes as  aggressive as pellet blasting, thereby creating a sizeable cost saving in reduced Dry Ice consumption while effectively removing contaminates.

Slow motion video shows that approximately 60% of a Dry Ice pellet reverts back to CO2 vapor on surface impact without ever touching the contaminate, when being blasted via a high velocity air stream onto a targeted substrate. Approximately only 40% of a pellet actually does the job of removing coatings and contaminates. The rest is wasted.

Crystal Particle Blast Cleaning means.....

.... 30-50% less Dry Ice consumption !
… Safe on sensitive surfaces !
